And with multiple social media and business platforms offering efficient methods of video-calling, it\u2019s now easier than ever to speak to friends and family all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>However, with instant messaging and calling at our fingertips, it also means less interaction with others in the physical sense. Whilst this might be seen as a positive for some, it\u2019s still important to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au\/health\/healthyliving\/Strong-relationships-strong-health\">engage in social interaction for mental health and support reasons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shopping <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Technology has transformed the way we shop with customers choosing to buy many goods online, a factor that has been significantly accelerated since the pandemic and lockdowns, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/article\/international\/australian-online-shopping-continues-surge-in-record-financial-year-122070700395_1.html\">over 5 million households engaging in online shopping each month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s now easier than ever to shop from the comfort of your home, at a time that suits you, with more online retail options available and a greater access to discounts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finances<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The way we bank has changed drastically with many choosing to manage their finances purely online rather than through traditional methods. Payment methods have also become easier, quicker and more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>Investing has also adapted to new technology with the rise in online platforms for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxcm.com\/au\/accounts\/cfd-trading\/\">CFD trading making it more accessible<\/a> for anyone to trade.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Information accessibility <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Advancing technology means there\u2019s now a wide range of data and information accessible to everyone. Whilst is great news for those such as businesses wanting to research audiences and create successful marketing strategies, it also poses a problem with fake information, data security and personal privacy.<\/p>\n<p>As technology increases, so does the need for more complex security systems to protect data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The way we engage with leisure activities has also changed, with more people spending time on screen-based activities such as gaming, video streaming and downloading from music platforms. With so many entertainment options available at the touch of a button, there\u2019s less need to visit a cinema, games centre or live music venue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The rise in super-fast broadband means many jobs can now be carried out remotely, with working from home no longer reserved for roles such as writers or programmers. With a lack of geographical restrictions, many careers are now open to a wider skillset and can even be done internationally.<\/p>\n<p>With multiple positive outcomes of increasing and advancing technology, it\u2019s often easy to forget there can be a downside.
